Great Places to Eat in Savannah

Oh, don’t get us started! Savannah has some of the best food around! However, we know that you have to feed an entire Girl Scout troop and you are working within a budget – so we have a few suggestions to stretch your budget. Below are some of our faves and some that are budget friendly, familiar chain restaurants.

Bakers Pride bakery has the best baked goods in town.

Baker’s Pride

Get your donuts here! Like…right now! Bakers Pride has the best baked goods, especially for breakfast. This spot is located off of DeRenne Avenue in a very unassuming shopping center. There is not enough room to sit, so plan to take these back and eat them at your hotel or vacation rental.

Betty Bombers offers amazing hamburgers and fries.

Betty Bombers

This is a delicious diner inside American Legion Post 135 (one of a very few number of American Legions that are open to the public). Get amazing burgers and fries here!

The Original Crab Shack restaurant.

The Original Crab Shack

This place is a must-try! Bring your entire troop and order a big low country boil while you sit by the marsh and watch cute cats (who love leftover seafood). In case one of your Girl Scouts does not like seafood, other choices are on the menu. This is a bit of a tourist destination, so expect a wait to sit down!

Carey Hilliard’s

Carrey Hilliard’s is a local favorite! They have six locations around the Savannah area. The food is good, the prices are good and the menu is varied enough to please even picky eaters in your troop.

Lots of national chain restaurants on Savannah's South Side.
